The DeZoti Genesis: An Immigrant Founder's Story

The story of DeZoti is inseparable from the journey of its founder, Enrico K. DeZoti, known in the fashion world by his pseudonym EK Dezoti. Born in Togo, West Africa, EK’s life has been a study in a relentless pursuit of a global vision. He immigrated to the United States at 18, navigating the complexities of a new culture and language to graduate from the Florida Institute of Technology and build a distinguished career in the digital world. His path was one of resilience, a narrative he would later show in the complexity and appeal of his designs. 
The call of his creative spirit, rooted in his African heritage and cultivated through travels to over 30 countries (He has lived in 5 countries and visited over 38), demanded a new form of expression. The vision for DeZoti was crystallized not in a boardroom, but on the deck of a sailboat in the Caribbean, surrounded by friends wearing his initials, handcrafted designs. It was a moment of clarity: to create a brand that would bridge worlds.
From a 1942 Singer sewing machine in a Melbourne, Florida garage in 2017, the first DeZoti pieces came to life. This humble beginning, reminiscent of iconic American entrepreneurial tales, quickly gave way to greater ambitions. Recognizing the need to be at the epicenter of the swimwear industry, Eryck made the bold move to Miami in 2018, and later, in 2025, established a design studio in Puerto Rico, fully immersing the brand in the year-round rhythm of the tropics. This journey from a garage to a global design hub is the embodiment of the DeZoti ethos: audacious, adaptable, and relentlessly dedicated to a singular vision.
